What to Expect
We would love to have you come by and visit us at Covington Baptist Church. Because visiting a church for the first time can be a frightening experience, we would like to let you know what you can expect when coming to our church. Guests are always welcome and we hope this helps! Please contact us if you have any more questions.
When Are Your Services?
Our morning worship service begins at 9:45 a.m. It lasts approximately one hour and fifteen minutes. At the end of our service, we would love to have you stay for our fellowship time in our activity center for coffee and snacks. Our greeters would be more than happy to direct you as to its location. At 11:15 we then provide Bible study classes for children and adults of all ages.
What Are Your Services Like?
We believe you will find our services to be worshipful as well as warm, friendly and down-to-earth. We worship the Lord together with a mixture of hymns and choruses, read Scripture together and study the Bible together. Our services are a time where you can worship God and get to know Him in a better way on a personal level.
Am I Going to Stand Out As a Visitor?
You will not stand out when you visit our church. There will be greeters at our entrances to welcome you and give you information about our church, but no one will point you out in an embarrassing way during our service. We desire our services to be a time when you can worship the Lord and get to know about our church in a better way. For this reason, you will not be made to stand out.
What Should I Wear?
Do I dress casual? Like I'm going to work? Like I'm relaxing with friends? Like I am going out for dinner? Well, the easy answer is, "Yes!" When you arrive at our church, you will find some business casual, some "Sunday Best", and some dress casual. We aren't concerned with what you are wearing when you join us... we just want you to join us.
Is There Anything for My Children?
Yes, there is. We offer several ministries for your children to get involved in including:
- Nursery (for all services)
- Children's Church during the morning worship service
- Sunday school
- Awana on Wednesday nights
- Youth group on Sunday nights
