Meet Our Pastors

Pastor Ted Rood

Birthplace: Pensacola, Florida. I grew up on a bayou—we could dash out our back door and run down to our dock and plunge into the bayou. I grew up swimming, boating, water skiing, camping out, hunting, fishing and working in my dad's workshop.

Family: My wife Patti and I have been married 39 years. We have three boys: Brent who is a church planter in Seattle, Washington; Richard, who died of Muscular Dystrophy at age 26; and Daniel, living in Raleigh, North Carolina working for Expedia Corporate Travel. We have six grandchildren and one on the way.

About My Wife: Patti and I met at college. She was born and raised in Decatur, IL. She received a BA in Bible. She is an accomplished pianist, but her passion is reading and her children. She is the Executive Secretary of our church.

Education: BA in Bible with a proficiency in music and youth. I have also taken graduate classes in Bible and music.

Favorite Memories: Growing up—spending time with my grandfather; As an adult—spending time with my family.

Dream Vacation: My wife and I heading for Charleston, South Carolina for our 40th anniversary.

Special Bible Verse: "You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you." Isaiah 26:3

Pastor Adam Pereira

Birthplace: I was born in Valparaiso, Indiana but I lived most of my life in Florida. I was raised in a pastor's home with a great dad and mom and five brothers (no sisters)!

Family: My beautiful and lovely wife Rachel and I were married May 28, 2005. The Lord has blessed us with two wonderful sons for which we are very thankful.

About My Wife: Rachel and I met when I was in seminary and she was in college. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and lived the majority of her life in Florida. She received a BS degree in Elementary Education. She is a very talented pianist and vocalist and travelled with several musical groups while in college. She enjoys music, her family and interacting with people. You can also check out her blog tracing God's daily blessings entitled "a steady rain".

Education: BA in Pastoral Ministries, Master of Divinity.

Hobbies: writing (check out my personal blog "Biblical Tidbits in a Busy World"), music, playing sports, spending time with family, and just relaxing.

Favorite Memories: Growing up—cherished times of interaction with my parents and making boxing home videos with my brothers; As an adult—dating my wife and seeing my son for the very first time at the hospital (priceless)!

Dream Vacation: Almost anywhere overseas with just me and my wife!

Special Bible Verse: "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28
